Melanie has worked with a diverse range of communities for over 20 years in a socially engaged context. A particular focus of her work is engaging with people who are newly arrived to the UK and people that find themselves on the edge of society and communities who do not engage with the arts.
She encourages exploration of ideas, materials and artistic processes relevant to the narrative of each community. In the gallery you will see sculpture, textiles, illustration, metalwork, installations, photography, printing and film processes employed.
