Melanie was commissioned by the Devon Guild and Walsall Leather Museum to develop a project with Walsall Town FC fans aka ‘The Saddlers’ and their families exploring the towns historic leather industry and its links to football. Using off-cuts of discarded and recycled leather donated by a local saddlers, Melanie led a series of leather printing and embossing workshops in the community room during Saturday home matches where participants explored memory, working class narratives and craftsmanship.
